From Trentini Stadium past the vintage shops of downtown and the Birthplace of Wake Forest College Museum to Ailey Young Park, traveling Juniper Avenue end to end takes you past much of what gives Wake Forest its distinctive character. Juniper Avenue is separated into East and West designations with the change occurring at Main Street (U.S. Highway 1 Alternate). The avenue is lined by sidewalks the majority of its length and is a pedestrian friendly roadway.
Commuters to Raleigh who live in the Juniper Avenue area have the option of using public transportation. An express bus service connecting downtown Wake Forest with Triangle Town Center and the state government facilities in Raleigh operates during morning and evening rush hours weekdays. A second trip is available midday between Wake Forest and the Triangle Town Center mall. Additionally, an in-town loop service operates daily with stops at a variety of shopping locations throughout Wake Forest.
At the west end of Juniper Avenue is Trentini Stadium, formerly known as Grove Stadium. Trentini is named in honor of long time high school athletic coach Tony Trentini and is the home field for Wake-Forest Rollesville High School. Football match-ups held at the stadium often draw crowds of up to 5,000 spectators. Along with the football stadium a soccer field, tennis courts, and baseball field are located on the site.
Residents of the eastern section of Juniper Avenue will enjoy spending leisure time at Ailey Young Park. The neighborhood park encompasses 15 acres and includes a baseball field, basketballs courts, and a playground. Picnic tables, a climbing rock, and open green space complete the park.
