Wake Forest, North Carolina is ideally situated in the northern section of the ever-growing Raleigh-Durham Triangle. This burgeoning city is highly recommended as one of the best places in the area to live. Whether raising a family or seeking a place to retire, Wake Forest’s hospitable atmosphere is a true Wake County gem.
Since its inception in 1832, Wake Forest has grown from a mere few hundred people to thousands. With this growth, the city has expanded to meet the needs of the growing population. One of these areas of development is the rural neighborhood of Heather Grove. Located approximately 1.5 miles northeast of downtown Wake Forest, Heather Grove provides residents with the tranquility of rural living while still being near popular shopping, dining, and entertainment venues.
Heather Grove extends along Kullana Lane on the southeast side of North Main Street. Neighboring communities include Ripple Creek, Village At Olde Mill Stream, and Edgeford Park. Also called Alternate US-1, North Main Street provides straight access to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and downtown. On the south side of the seminary is the Historic Business District.
Downtown Wake Forest provides for many of the needs of Heather Grove residents. Along with two downtown parks, Holding Park and Miller Park, the area offers a seniors center, post office, public library, and a park and ride bus stop. At the southeast corner of the seminary, residents have a variety of dining choices – from small delis and coffee houses to family restaurants.
Also located within the downtown area and southeast of the seminary is Wake Forest Elementary. Wake Forest-Rolesville High School is located near the northwest corner of the seminary. Approximately one mile southwest of Heather Grove is Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School.
