Harris Point is a small neighborhood that only has one cul-de-sac road, Harris Point Way. It is situated in the 27587 zip code area. The lots are nice-sized and heavily wooded, offering residents lots of privacy.
The entrance to Harris Point is off of Harris Road. To golfers’ delight, Harris Road runs into Capital Boulevard to the west, right near Wake Forest Golf Course. The 18-hole, par-72 course is planted with Bermuda grass.
Residents are conveniently near shopping venues, including the Harris Crossing shopping center, just to the north where Harris Road joins Highway 1. There is a Harris Teeter grocery store located there, along with several shops and restaurants.
Calvin Ray Pond is one of Wake Forest’s many reservoirs where local fishermen can try their luck close to home.
The E. Carroll Joyner Park is the largest and newest park in Wake Forest, and is located just a short distance from the neighborhood down Harris Road. Within the park, there is a 1,000-seat amphitheater, garden, performance area, several restored farm buildings, and a beautiful old pecan grove. Roughly three miles of paved trails with benches and bench swings along the way offer a great way to pass an afternoon. The trails are excellent for bicycling, in-line skating, and walking.
The large amphitheater hosts regional and local acts, plus the Six Sundays in Spring concert series each April. It also hosts music workshops, storytelling, and poetry readings in an intimate space surrounded by hedges.
