Twenty stops are on the tour including the Lloyd Gristmill and Carrboro Railroad Station. The Carr Mill Mall, located in a landmark building erected in 1898, was restored and is now home to offices, stores, and restaurants.

The active recreation department has a cooperative relationship with the Orange County parks program providing residents with information and access to the over 40 parks in the county area. Local programs developed for Carrboro residents include youth baseball and football programs, a community gardening project, a dog park, and a new 18 hole disc golf course.
