Dandridge Downs is a rather large subdivision characterized by winding streets with many mature shade trees in well-kept yards. Houses are predominately small brick starter homes, but there are a few larger homes. The area is well maintained and pleasant. Some of the streets of the subdivision feature sidewalks.

Additionally, the other ends of these roads extend north under the I-40 overpass. Cross Link Drive is a busier thoroughfare than streets in the rest of the neighborhood, but it remains residential. Properties on Cross Link Drive tend to be heavily wooded. Garner Road has both commercial properties and residential properties. Several apartment complexes and townhouse complexes are located on Garner Road, which has sidewalks.

Neighborhood landmarks include Montlawn Memorial Park, the YMCA, and the Biltmore Hills Community Center. The center features a neighborhood pool and is located on Fitzgerald Drive. Additionally, I-40 provides easy access to all parts of the Raleigh-Durham area.
