Chalfant is a cul-de-sac neighborhood of just a few homes. The Chalfant neighborhood is accessed off Sussex Road. The homes are large, two- or three-story structures with manicured bushes, trees, and lawns. Crepe Myrtle trees grace the front yards, along with a few hardwoods. The rear perimeter is lush with hardwoods. Paved driveways accent the beautiful, neat exteriors.
Situated near the Raleigh 440 Beltline, Chalfant residences are centrally located between the Carolina Country Club and Carl Alwin Schenck Memorial Forest. Commuting is easy. Golfing, walking, and biking are common.
Several parks in the area have walking and biking trails as well as sections for great family outings. Pullen Park, Rothgeb Park, and North Hills Park are nearby. Pullen Park is great for family activities and different forms of entertainment. Children love the carousel and the train.

In the immediate vicinity are Martin Middle Magnet School, Root Elementary School, Meredith College, NC State University, and church schools of various denominations.

Although the neighborhood is made up of just a few lots, the area is quaintly beautiful.
