Northgate Mall with anchor stores Hechts and Sears is minutes away from Burch Avenue and offers some of the best upscale shopping and specialty shops in the Burch Avenue locale. Some of the mall’s features include a full-size Italian Carousel and children’s train, plus an array of small kiddie rides.

Durham Central Park is a weekend hotspot for residents of Burch Avenue and other neighboring areas. The Great Lawn is the perfect spot for picnics or throwing a Frisbee. Currently under construction, the Skate Park will be one of the most modern parks of its kind. The marble sculptures in the park are always a delight to adults and children alike.
