One of several lovely neighborhoods close to the center of the city, Providence Square shows appreciation for nature with mature trees providing a barrier between residences and main roadways. The community has sidewalks and plenty of off-street parking.
Providence Square is bordered by Trade Street Northwest on the west. Northwest Boulevard forms the southern boundary, with Patterson Avenue creating the eastern border. East 14th Street runs east-west through the center of the neighborhood.
A post office is conveniently located inside the community. It is separated from the residential area by large, mature trees. North Main Street begins and ends inside the neighborhood with several small cul-de-sacs. North Chestnut Street is the other main road inside the development.
For recreational opportunities, Blum Park and Kimberly Park are to the north, and just to the west of the community is Gateway Commons Park. Several restaurants and coffee shops are along Patterson Avenue. Providence Square residents enjoy easy access to many small shopping centers. In addition, the Hanes Mall, one of the largest malls in North Carolina, is to the southwest of the neighborhood, off Interstate 40 near the intersection of the Interstate 40 Business Loop.
Route 52, the John Gold Memorial Expressway, is just to the east of the community and leads to the city of Winston-Salem. Salem College and Winston-Salem Sate University are just south of the area. The Bowman-Gray Stadium and the Reynolds Park Recreation Center are southeast of the university.
