Hunters Ridge is a community in southwest Winston-Salem, a city roughly 30 miles west of downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. This community is situated just north of Interstate 40, bounded by McGregor Road and South Peace Haven Road on the west. One of the most significant attractions near Hunters Ridge is Tanglewood Park, located within five miles to the southwest and easily accessible via nearby I-40. This popular area park offers fishing and boating, mountain biking trails, a BMX track, aquatic center, stables, tennis courts, and playgrounds. It also hosts the Tanglewood Park Golf Course and All-American Rose Selections Garden and Arboretum. The Oak Valley Golf Course is adjacent to the park on the west.
Several amenities are situated within a few miles northeast of Hunters Ridge as well. For shopping and entertainment, residents head to the Hanes Mall, located along I-40 and adjacent to the Forsyth Medical Center. This indoor mall is anchored by a Macy’s, Belk, Dillard’s, JC Penney, and Old Navy, but hundreds of specialty stores and eateries round out the options. For entertainment, there is also a carousel and movie theater.
If residents continue into the downtown area, which is just a 12-minute drive to the northeast, there is plenty more to see and do in Winston-Salem, including popular city parks and prominent colleges and universities.
