Cleveland Avenue Homes is a neighborhood on the north side of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, less than three miles from downtown. It is bounded by State Highway 8 on the west, North Liberty Street and New Hope Lane on the north, North Cleveland Avenue on the east, and East 14th Street/Northwest Boulevard on the south. It is part of Forsyth County and is in the 27105 zip code.
Much of Cleveland Avenue Homes is made up of large townhome/condominum complexes, but a few single-family homes can be found in the northwest portion and along the north side of East 17th Street. Its southwestern corner is home to commercial and industrial interests.
Residents are within walking distance or a short drive of several green spaces, including Blum Park, Fourteenth Street Park, Kimberly Park, and Gateway Commons Park. The neighborhood is also less than two miles west of Winston Lake Golf Course, one of the city’s most popular public courses. In addition to a challenging, scenic course, it offers golf lessons and a pro shop. Other golfing options within five miles include Reynolds Park to the southeast and Forsyth Country Club to the southwest.
Winston-Salem is well known for its plethora of higher-education institutions, many of which are within five miles. The most prominent school is Wake Forest University, located a few miles southwest along Polo Road and University Parkway. Additional schools within a few miles south of the neighborhood include the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Salem College, and Winston-Salem State University.
