The Caroline Village neighborhood of Winston-Salem offers residents a retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The downtown portion of the Winston-Salem is to the north of Interstate 40. The city is close enough for easy commuting and far enough for serenity.
The Caroline Village community is bordered by Pope Road on the north and Old Salisbury Road on the east. West Clemmonsville Road marks the southern border. Roads in the neighborhood include Village Place, Guilford Drive, Thompson Drive, Perks Drive, and Snyder Drive. Rominger Road, Karmel Drive, and Winding Ridge Road are also in the development. The neighborhood is in the 27127 ZIP code and is part of Forsyth County.
The majority of the area between Winding Ridge Road residences and Rominger Road is wooded land. Wooded areas separate Gulford Drive from the northern boundary and divide Thompson Drive from Karmel Drive and West Clemmonsville Road. The vast amount of mature trees provides each road with a wonderful sense of privacy.
Caroline Village provides an almost forest-like setting and has plenty of off-street parking and sidewalks for leisurely strolls. Parks, lakes, and recreational opportunities are also widely available. The Wiltshire Golf Club on Peterson Parkway is just southeast of the neighborhood. Hobby Park and Lower Janita Lake are just to the west.
For shopping needs, residents visit the Hanes Mall Shopping Center to the northwest and Cooks Shopping Center to the northeast. Interstate 40 is north of the neighborhood. The University of North Carolina School of the Arts is northwest of the Caroline Village neighborhood, above the intersection of I-40 and the John Gold Memorial Expressway.
