The Old Salem Museums and Gardens is an authentic colonial site with 100 restored buildings. The Old Salem Visitor Center has demonstrations of skilled trades including woodworking and pewtering. The Single Brothers’ House and Salem Tavern are listed as National Historic Landmarks.
The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in Old Salem has exhibits of the regional decorative arts of the early South. Examples include furniture, painting, textiles and ceramics made in the Southern states through the early 19th century.
