Ardmore Village shares many traits with the larger Ardmore neighborhood just to the north. Ardmore Village is conveniently located near downtown Winston-Salem and several major shopping centers. It’s a very walkable neighborhood, with large, well-lit sidewalks. Ardmore Village is a diverse neighborhood with friendly residents and a safe, welcoming atmosphere.
Ardmore Village is located south of downtown Winston-Salem. Its boundaries include Ardmore Road to the north, Mangum Street to the south, Ardmore Village Lane to the east and Lindale Street to the west. Homes are well-kept, suburban family houses, with large, manicured front lawns. Groves of trees surround the neighborhood in many directions.
Students in Ardmore Village are part of the Forsyth County Schools School District. Both Griffith Elementary and Parkland High are within one mile of the outer edges of Ardmore Village. The 30.2-acre Parkland Park is also within one mile of Ardmore Village. Along with seating for picnics and barbecues, Parkland Park also has ball fields, playgrounds, and a swimming pool that is open during the summer for children and adults looking to escape the North Carolina heat.
The Peters Creek Parkway just east of Ardmore Village offers residents easy access to shopping, dining and other amenities. A Food Lion grocery store is located on Peters Creek Parkway directly east of Ardmore Village; a Wal-Mart Super Center is slightly further south. Several fast food restaurants are located along that stretch of road along with a Waffle House diner. Savvy shoppers can also take advantage of several thrift stores in the area, selling second-hand bargains at low prices.
