Situated near highway 73 and highway 3, the surrounding neighborhood has easy access to shopping areas and other attractions in historic Concord. In 2000-2001, Old Concord Middle School moved from the older building which contained it to a new construction. The old building now houses a center for special needs children. The new building is considered by some residents and students to be haunted. There are frequents reports of footsteps in the night, strange noises coming from the auditorium, lockers opening and closing by themselves, and doors slamming when no one is in the hall. Reports became more frequent after an exorcism was performed by a clergyman.

Les Myers Community Park is located on 21 acres and offers basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, a concrete skating rink, an amphitheater, a softball field and a community building.
