Lineberger Park lies to the northwest of Bryan Mews. This is the oldest park in Gastonia. It is located on 18.5 acres that were donated to the city by the Lineberger family in the 1920s. The park features playgrounds, a sprayground, a swimming pool and bathhouse, picnic areas, basketball courts, and a miniature train. The train is open every month except January and February. This expansive park is also the location of the entrance to the Avon/Catawba Green Way. This 2.7-mile paved trail is used for walking, jogging, in-line skating, and bicycling.
