Quakers settled the area of Queensbury in 1762 then abandoned the village during the American Revolution. In 1783, the settlers returned to the area. Queensbury was officially established in 1786. Queensbury is located in Warren County in eastern New York and is the county seat. The Hudson River forms the southern boundary of the town.

Queensbury’s northern border is located along the southern shores of Lake George and several bays are carved into the landscape – Dark Bay, Dunham Bay, Harris Bay, and Warner Bay.
