Queensbury, NY Apartments for Rent

Quakers settled the area of Queensbury in 1762 then abandoned the village during the American Revolution. In 1783, the settlers returned to the area. Queensbury was officially established in 1786. Queensbury is located in Warren County in eastern New York and is the county seat. The Hudson River forms the southern boundary of the town.

Find a Queensbury apartment and enjoy living in the beautiful foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. West Mountain is located in Queensbury and is a popular downhill skiing area with 22 trails. A tubing area is also located in the ski area. During summer, residents enjoy other activities, such as mountain biking and grass skiing.

Queensbury is also home to Great Escape, a Six Flags amusement park that opened in 1954. It contains seven roller coasters, including the Comet, a wooden roller coaster that first opened in 1927 as the Cyclone at Crystal Beach amusement park. The roller coaster was moved after the park closed in 1988.

Glen Lake is another great location, popular for boating, fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Spectacular Lake George extends more than 32 miles long and ranges from one to three miles wide. It is home to several marinas and is a popular summertime resort area. Queensbury’s northern border is located along the southern shores of Lake George and several bays are carved into the landscape – Dark Bay, Dunham Bay, Harris Bay, and Warner Bay.
