Albany County Apartments for Rent
Is it the first Friday of the month? Don’t miss the trolley! Every first Friday of every month from 11am-2pm the trolley takes you through downtown Albany to enjoy artwork and exhibitions. From 5pm-9pm enjoy live entertainment. This is completely free and a great way to see the city if you’re a new Albany apartment renter looking for something different to do.
The Tulip Festival is another great Albany event that takes place in May. Enjoy the fresh, beautiful tulip festival with live music, excellent food, a KidZone, and (of course!) tulips, tulips, tulips.
Stepping into Cardona’s Market takes you back to a simpler time of Italy, when it was all about cheese, olives, and the famous meatballs handmade from 92-year-old Papa.
In the center of the city lies Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller Empire State Plaza with a pool and fountains — it’s a great place to relax and enjoy a packed lunch. This is where the “Egg” hovers above, offering information on all types of performing arts, from comedy to theatre. Or, for something a little more laid back, go at your own pace through the New York State Museum and travel through New York’s history – for free!
Other great things to do include Park Playhouse, which offers free musical theater in Washington Park every summer, and Dutch Apple Cruises, a great narrated tour along the Hudson River.
For all you nature lovers, take a long weekend or just a day trip to the Adirondacks. Albany is only an hour away. Hike, bike, whitewater raft, canoe, or just take a walk down history lane, quaint towns full of log houses, quilt makers, old time music, and the smell of chimneys.
