Travel east along the New Jersey Turnpike outside of Trenton and you’ll soon discover the beautiful borough of Hightstown. It became a Mercer County borough in 1853, when parts of East Windsor Township were separated out and named for the Hight family. The borough is still completely surrounded by East Windsor Township.
