Travel east along the New Jersey Turnpike outside of Trenton and you’ll soon discover the beautiful borough of Hightstown. It became a Mercer County borough in 1853, when parts of East Windsor Township were separated out and named for the Hight family. The borough is still completely surrounded by East Windsor Township.

If you can’t decide between an apartment in Philadelphia and an apartment in New York City, then choose neither – and rent an apartment in Hightstown! Why? Because Hightstown is the halfway point between Manhattan and Philadelphia, about 50 miles from each major city. Hightstown has an action-packed and historic downtown that features terrific shops, restaurants, and a lake. It is also the location of several fairs, festivals, and events.

Be sure to attend the Hometown Harvest, a seasonal fair that includes more than 250 vendors, live music and performances, and a children’s area with inflatables, a petting zoo, and pony rides. The unique Friday Nights at the Lake and Farmers Market is a unique summertime event, with a farmers market and live entertainment every Friday night from June to September.
