Pittman is a Henderson, Nevada neighborhood. The junction of Pabco Road and the North Boulder Highway form a point at its southernmost boundary. West Burkholder Boulevard sits near the northernmost extremity of the community. Most of this neighborhood’s housing is in either one or the other of these two areas, though by far, the majority is in the southern part.
Within this southern residential area, East Marlayne Drive is home to Wells Park. Here, 10 acres offer a ball field, tennis courts, basketball, picnic areas, and more. Adjacent to this park is the Wells Outdoor Pool for family recreation, offering a number of special events and activities. Edna F. Hinman Elementary school is nearby, as is the Pittman Library.
Further north, the area surrounding East Sunset Road is populated with businesses and industries of various types, as is the length of North Boulder Highway. Public transportation is readily available from these locations for neighborhood residents.
A large area of Pittman, north of East Sunset Road, is occupied by the city’s water treatment facility. On the grounds of this facility are the 140 acres of the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve. Residents of Pittman, as well as visitors, enjoy watching local birds and the numerous migratory birds that stop in en route on the Pacific Migratory Flyway. Nine ponds are available for birding at this location, with a quarter-mile of paved walking trails in addition to soft-surface walking trails.
After taking in a morning of bird watching, mall shopping is only about two miles away for Pittman residents, located on West Sunset Drive.
