Shrewsbury Neighborhood

Shrewsbury is a medium-size community in St. Louis, Missouri. It has a population of approximately 6,500 residents and an area of 1.43 square miles, making it moderately well-populated.

Des Peres Parkway serves as the northern border of the neighborhood. Watson Road borders the community to its southeast. It is bordered by Interstate 44 to the west, which makes all of the attractions and historical landmarks of the greater St. Louis area within easy reach of residents.

There are plenty of green spaces nearby. Blackburn Park is less than a mile southwest. It has a large playground, two ball fields, and tennis courts, as well as open parkland. The large Francis Park is a mile and a half east. It offers a playground, tennis courts, racquetball courts, handball courts, ball fields, and a picnic pavilion.

Three hospitals and medical centers are located within a three-mile radius of Shrewsbury: Forest Park Hospital, Select Specialty Hospital, and St. Louis State Hospital.

The community is convenient for college students. Webster University is a mile west. St. Louis University is a mile and a half south, and Fontbonne University is two and a half miles north. Missouri College is three miles north of the neighborhood.

Nearby attractions offer a little something for many tastes. May Gallery, a small art gallery with a plentiful collection, is a mile west. The St. Louis Art Museum is four miles northeast. The Missouri Botanical Garden is a little over four miles northeast. The quirky Miniature Museum of the Greater St. Louis area is three miles east.
