Saint Louis at a Glance
Holly Hills Neighborhood
Holly Hills is a beautiful neighborhood in south Saint Louis, Missouri, within St. Louis County. This community encompasses the 63116 zip code area and is bounded by Bates Street to the north, Loughborough Avenue and Holly Hills Boulevard on the south, Morganford Road on the west, and South Grand Boulevard on the east. The railroad tracks cut through the eastern portion of the community. Area neighborhoods include Dutchtown, Boulevard Heights, and Carondelet.
This community is named after the Hollywood Hills, but you won’t find celebrities walking the broad, tree-line streets of this neighborhood. Home styles here range from comfortably modest bungalows to stately, brick mansions with wide, columned porches.
Not only does Holly Hills have a beautiful neighborhood garden, but it is also adjacent to the third largest park in the city, which spans the neighborhood’s southern boundary. Carondelet Park is a jewel in the St. Louis parks system, spanning more than 179 acres and offering three-acre Horseshoe Lake and five-acre Boathouse Lake, both of which are fully stocked with fish. Among the many other amenities here are baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic areas with grills and shelters, a bandstand, boathouse, and 1.65-mile walking trail.
Holly Hills is roughly one mile west of the river and the Illinois border. Residents are within a few miles south and east of several area retail centers, including Kings Highway Shopping Center and Southtown Centre. For more to see and do, residents of this neighborhood make the 20-minute drive into downtown St. Louis, which offers a variety of attractions. Among the most prominent are The Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and St. Louis University.
