Verona Hills is a lovely neighborhood of spacious contemporary homes set on large, well-manicured lawns along landscaped streets. It is an inviting neighborhood, and sidewalks make it pedestrian-friendly. Verona is bound by West 114th Terrace, Wornall Road, West Santa Fe Trail, and State Line Road. Across the street from the southeast corner of the neighborhood is Avila College, a prestigious private school.
This is a great community for those who love golf. Two major country clubs, Leawood South and Blue Hills, are about a mile south. There are three public courses as well: Turner Golf Course, Swope Memorial Golf Course, and Stayton Meadows, all a short drive to the northeast. There are many others in the area, as Kansas City folks love their golf.
For water sports, several large lakes are a few miles east of the Verona Hills neighborhood. The closest is Kemodle Park and Lakes. Longview and Lake Jacomo are not much farther away and provide great facilities for boating, fishing, golf, swimming, and hiking. Lake Jacomo also has an outdoor education center, with programs for children at Kemper Outdoor Education Center.
Johnson County Community College is just west, along West 111th Street. Not only does the college offer great two-year programs, but it also brings nationally known performing artists to the Kansas City area. The newest addition is the Contemporary Art Museum on the JCCC campus.
Town Center Plaza is the nearest shopping area and features many national names such as Ann Taylor, Coldwater Creek, and Macy’s. There are also a number of restaurants nearby.
The Verona Hills neighborhood is close to the sprawling Sprint Campus and Coporate Woods district. With easy access to I-435 just a few blocks north, residents find that all the attractions and events of greater Kansas City are only a short drive away.
