Centerstate is a rather small Columbia community in the 65202 zip code area. It is near many natural preserves, conservation areas, and wildlife sanctuaries.

The Finger Lakes State Park and Rock Bridge Memorial State Park are both within a few minutes’ drive northeast of Centerstate. The Finger Lakes State Park consists of over 1,000 acres and has over 70 miles of trails for motorcycles and off-road vehicles. It also has a one and a half mile lake that is used for water sports, scuba diving, swimming, and canoeing. Rock Bridge Memorial State Park is also massive and plentiful, offering cave exploring, equestrian riding, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife observing.

Centerstate is also a very popular neighborhood for a wide variety of college students. Columbia College, a highly reviewed local school, is six miles to its south. Stephens College, an all-female university, is about seven miles to its south. The University of Missouri, which attracts students from all over the state, is just under eight miles to its south. The Cosmetology Concepts Institute, Moberly Area Community College, and Heritage Academy are within a ten-mile radius.

The Masonic Home of Missouri is just over three miles southeast of the neighborhood. The Western Historical Manuscript Collection, an important museum of history, is seven and a half miles to its south. The University of Missouri’s Museum of Art and Archaeology is a bit over seven miles to its south, as is the State Historical Society of Missouri. The Davis Art Gallery is six and a half miles to its south. Also nearby are the Boone County Historical Society Museum, the George Caleb Bingham Gallery, and the Missouri Children’s Museum.
