The Minneapolis neighborhood of Wenonah is located along the Crosstown Highway, to the east of Cedar Avenue. Major roadways connect the community to all areas around Wenonah, making it one of the most accessible neighborhoods in the region. Much of this accessibility is due to presence of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, located along the southeastern border of the community.

This airport hosts an incredible amount of travel into and out of the region. Since many major airlines use it as a hub, residents have access to both domestic and international travel. The airport is also a major commercial center. Numerous flights arrive and depart, transporting goods around the world. It is also a major regional employer, with quite a few residents from surrounding neighborhoods supporting the airport in one form or another.

Recreation is also a major part of Wenonah. Numerous parks and lakes are within a short distance of the community. To the northeast is Bossen Field, which is one of the more popular parks with area youth. The park has 11 different baseball and softball fields of varying sizes. Bossen Field is used heavily by youth baseball and softball leagues. There is also a playground on the western side.

Another great destination in the area is Veteran’s Memorial Park, to the south of Crosstown Highway. This park has several small ponds that make the area very scenic. It services as a home for numerous types of birds. The park has a miniature golf course; playground area; covered picnic areas; and some of the best walking, running, skating, and cycling trails in the region.
