Crystal Airport, one of the oldest airports in the region, is located about a mile to the north of Cavanagh Oaks. Many flying enthusiasts use this small airport which was built in 1946. The airport is open to the public and is host to numerous flying clubs, including the Yankee Flying Club and Club Cherokee Flying Club. Most of the airplanes here are single-engine planes and can be seen regularly, soaring over the area lakes.
