Circle Pines began in 1946 as a cooperative community with every house facing a park or walkway. Although no longer a co-op, the original plan were ideal for creating a pedestrian-friendly area with pleasant neighborhoods lined with sidewalks and small parks. The parks in Circle Pines include Indian Hills Park, Inner Park, Golden Lake, City Hall Park, and Heritage Commons. Boat and canoe launches, as well as a trail system, are also available.
