The charming suburb of Byron is located roughly five miles west of downtown Rochester. Byron is a small, family-friendly city with an excellent school system and picturesque neighborhoods. Move to a Byron apartment and you’ll enjoy fast, easy access to Rochester while still having a quiet, rural place to call home.

Byron was incorporated in 1873, but its history began years before that, in 1865. It was then that a newly-built train station attracted a wealthy New York resident named S.W. VanDusen, who bought land near the station to establish a village. He named his village Byron, after his hometown Byron, New York – which is located about 25 miles from Rochester, New York.

After choosing an apartment to rent in Byron, be sure to check out the farmer’s market and the community garden. The nearby Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo features a campground and zoo with over 30 species of animals, all native to Minnesota. Community events include the Med-City Marathon, Grizz-Fest, and Good Neighbor Days.
