Randolph Air Force Base Area Apartment Housing(hide military information)
Built in 1928, Randolph Air Force Base was named for Austin native Captain William Randolph. The base became part of Joint Base San Antonio, along with Randolph Air force Base, Fort Sam Houston, and Lackland Air Force Base, in 2010. It is located in Universal City, a northeastern suburb of San Antonio. Randolph AFB is home to the 902d Mission Support Group and is one of the only a few Air Force bases that includes pilot training.
When looking for an apartment in the Randolph Air Force Base area, Universal City is ideal — it is close to the base and, while only about 12 miles from downtown San Antonio – feels like a small town. Events include Bark, Park, & Wine, block parties and National Night Out events, and more. Other nearby communities include Converse, Schertz, Live Oak, Garden Ridge, Selma, Cibolo, Windcrest, and Northcliff.
