Located in southwestern San Antonio, there are plenty of apartments near Lackland AFB available. This busy city is considered one of the nation’s ten largest cities and it is still growing at a fast rate. San Antonio’s strong economy is based, in part, on military. Other industries include oil and gas, tourism, health care, and government. It is the county seat of Bexar County.
San Antonio’s South Side is the closest section to Lackland AFB. The South Side is a busy area, home to Palo Alto College, Texas A&M University-San Antonio, and the military bases. Attractions in South Side include four historic missions, River Walk, and “Ghost Tracks,” a supposedly haunted section of railroad tracks.
