Fort George Meade Area Apartment Housing

In 1917, a little less than 30 square miles of land south of Baltimore was acquired by the US Army for training. Known then as Camp Admiral, the post would undergo several transformations, expansions, merges, and name changes before it would become Fort George Meade.

Today, Fort Meade covers nearly eight square miles and contains one of the Army’s largest workforces. The base includes the United States Army Field Band, the National Security Agency, the Defense Courier Service, the United States Cyber Command, and the Defense Information School.

Fort George Meade is situated between Baltimore and the Washington, DC area. Apartments in the Fort George Meade area can be found in Odenton, Laurel, Severn, Severna Park, Glen Burnie, Beltsville, and Bowie. Annapolis, Columbia, and Ellicott City are all within commuting distance.
