Robins Air Force Base is an important base located in Warner Robins, Georgia. This base is part of the Air Force Materiel Command, the worldwide manager of several major aircraft, engines, missiles, and software. Robins AFB was built in 1942 and is home to several units, including Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, the 330th Aircraft Sustainment Wing, the 542d Combat Sustainment Wing, the 402d Maintenance Wing, and the 78th Air Base Wing.
The Museum of Aviation is the nation’s second-largest aerospace museum. It is located near the base on 51 acres. It contains roughly 93 aircraft, including helicopters, fighters, and drones. Established in 1981, the museum also features a gift shop and a café. In addition to permanent exhibits, the museum offers special exhibits, events, and guided tours.
