Macdill Air Force Base Area Apartment Housing
Just a few short miles from downtown Tampa, MacDill Air Force Base was established in 1939, named in honor of Colonel Leslie MacDill, a WWI pilot. It was one of two bases established in the Tampa region before WWII. MacDill AFB’s host unit is the 6th Air Mobility Wing. The 927th Air Refueling Wing is also located on base, in addition to 38 tenant units.
Located on a peninsula in South Tampa, the base is situated in a beautiful area, bordered to the east by Hillsborough Bay, to the west by Old Tampa Bay, and to the south by Tampa Bay. To find an apartment near MacDill AFB, look in the South Tampa area, specifically near Ballast Point, Belmar Shore, Virginia Park, Bayshore Beautiful, and Bayshore Gardens.
