South Weymouth, one of four districts in the town of Weymouth, Massachusetts, is located mostly off Route 3 (Pilgrim’s Highway). Route 3 connects Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Cape Cod. South Weymouth is 12 miles southeast of downtown Boston in Norfolk County.
One of many historic places in South Weymouth is the Jason Holbrook Homestead, built in 1763. Now home to the Weymouth Historical Society, it is open to the public and contains several exhibits. In addition, the Historical Society houses Weymouth records to the 1600s.
South Weymouth is also home to the Naval Air Station South Weymouth. This air field operated from 1942 to 1997 and acted as a navy blimp base during World War II. The nearby South Weymouth World War II Memorial honors the men from South Weymouth who were casualties of the war.
Great location and plenty to see and do make South Weymouth a great place for renting apartments.
