Area IV is a neighborhood in Cambridge, Mass. Cambridge is located across the Charles River from Boston. Area IV is bordered by Prospect Street to the west, Massachusetts Avenue on the south, Hampshire Street on the north and the railroad tracks of the Boston Albany Line on the east. It is a high-population residential neighbor which has a former industrial area that has developed into a modern high-tech business district with some facilities from MIT in the southeast section.
There is convenient bus transportation in the area and a T station at Central Square.

It draws visitors who have a high sense of imagination and enjoy seeing the latest technological developments as well as the high points of the past. This is science at it best and most interesting.
Green Rose Heritage Park on Harvard Street is a beautiful space in the midst of the city. It has passive aspects such as the beautiful gardens and also active areas with swings and tennis courts. There is plenty of open grassy space and trees. There are also benches if you just want to go and sit. The kids will love the water play area. The public art in the park is also a big draw. Dogs are welcome, but they must be leashed at all times.
Area IV is a neighborhood of mainly apartments and townhouses. There are some multi-family homes and condos. Shopping is always good on Massachusetts Avenue. This is not an area that is big on chain stores, but there is a Walgreens pharmacy and the must-have Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. The area is full of independent stores and small restaurants. This is a great area to walk and enjoy all the neighborhood has to offer.
