The Broadmoor/Sherwood neighborhood is twelve minutes from Downtown Baton Rouge. Bike lanes on Goodman Boulevard, Florida Boulevard, and Tara Boulevard make for easy access to the downtown area as well as Baton Rouge Community College. The neighborhood is in East Baton Rouge Parish.
The residential neighborhood has several churches that offer Sunday worship services and special programs for adults and children. Grace Baptist, Pleasant Valley Church of God, Ingleside United Methodist and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church are available, and each offers its own unique religious experience.
Broadmoor/ Sherwood residents will find plenty of places to shop. Bon Marche Mall is located on the corner of Florida Boulevard and Lobdell Boulevard. The Mall features department stores as well as specialty shops. Also nearby is the Kornmeyer Shopping Plaza located on Florida Boulevard.
Louisiana State University is ten minutes from Broadmoor/Sherwood and is convenient for students and faculty living in the area. There is a bus line on Florida Boulevard that turns onto North Foster Drive and head directly to the university.
North Street Park has a playground and a baseball field. The park has a recreation center with computer access along with community programs.
The Mississippi River runs adjacent to Downtown Baton Rouge and near Broadmoor Sherwood. University Lake offers camping, boating, and fishing. The park is said to be the best place to jog in Baton Rouge and the best park in Louisiana.
Broadmoor/Sherwood has plenty of shopping and business. Residents have easy access to all the amenities in Baton Rouge.
