Western Hills is a residential neighborhood on the northwest side of Manhattan, Kansas, just over 10 minutes from the heart of the downtown area. This conveniently located community is close to several area attractions; it’s only an hour and 15 minutes west of all there is to see and do in Topeka.
The boundaries of the Western Hills neighborhood are defined by Kimball Avenue on the south, Hudson Avenue on the east, and Little Kitten Avenue on the west. This community is predominately residential, consisting of more than 100 well-kept, single-family homes on good-sized lots. A small part of the neighborhood’s north side remains undeveloped, but for the most part, this is an established community.
Residents of Western Hills enjoy proximity to several area amenities. Younger children are within walking distance of Bergman Elementary and Anthony Middle Schools. The city’s west high school campus is only a short drive to the southeast, and Kansas State University is situated within a few miles of home for college students.
This community is also convenient to several outdoor attractions. The Riley County Fairgrounds and Cico Park Swimming Pool are just minutes to the southeast, and Frank Anneberg Park is only a few miles directly south. Anneberg offers many playing fields, walking paths, and a small golf course at its Twin Oaks Sports Complex and Wildcat Creek Golf & Fitness center.
Western Hills is also just minutes from several popular shopping and dining options, including the West Loop and Boulevard Bend Shopping Centers. All of the necessities can be found nearby, including popular supermarkets and pharmacies. Additional attractions within a short drive of home include the Manhattan Country Club and Sunset Zoo.
