Union Park is a neighborhood in Des Moines, Iowa. The borders of the Union Park neighborhood are Washington Avenue on the south and Hull Avenue on the north. The eastern border is the railroad tracks and on the west 2nd Street and the Des Moines River.

It is handicap accessible so that everyone can enjoy a ride. The park also includes a children’s water park, picnic tables, grills, a playground, and in the winter, cross country skiing. There are also tennis and basketball courts.

Grand View University is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church. It is a four-year co-ed liberal arts college with a strong campus-based ministry. The more than 2000 students are a diverse group and are both young adults and returning students. Both evening and weekend classes are offered to accommodate a variety of schedules.

When the residents of Union Park want to shop or to enjoy an evening out, they head to Historic East Village which is less than two miles away. It has a wide variety of small independent shops and restaurants. It is one of the treasures of Des Moines.
