The Westwood Forum neighborhood is located on the west side of Springfield, Illinois, a little over 3.5 miles from the heart of the downtown area. This conveniently located neighborhood is situated south of West Iles Avenue, north of Wabash Avenue, west of Chatham Road, and east of South Veterans Parkway/IL Highway 4. It is part of Sangamon County, in the 62704 zip code area. Nearby communities include Leland Grove, Westchester, Jerome, and Koke Mill East.
One of the most significant features of the Westwood Forum neighborhood is its closeness to city shopping options. At least a half-dozen retail centers are within walking distance of this neighborhood, providing a multitude of options for shopping, dining, and entertainment. The largest of these is the White Oaks Mall. Situated along Highway 4, this large indoor shopping complex offers at least 115 specialty stores and eateries, anchored by a Macy’s, Sears, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Bergner’s.
Westwood Forum is also situated near one of the city’s most popular parks — Washington Park. Located less than one mile to the northeast, along South Grand Avenue West, this 150-acre park has a rich history, dating all the way back to 1901. The landscape here includes two man-made lagoons, deep ravines, and wooded areas, through which meander several miles of popular hiking and biking trails. Additional facilities offered here include 12 tennis courts, picnic areas, and a playground. Washington Park is also known for its botanical gardens.
Washington Park is adjacent to two golfing options – the golf course at Pasfield Park and the Illini Country Club – both just minutes from the Westwood Forum neighborhood.
