In its hay day, the Harrison Boulevard community attracted many of Boise’s most affluent, prominent residents, resulting in some beautiful, stately homes of various architectural styles. A median parkway was added in 1916 and still remains.

Camelsback Park and Hulls Gulch/Camels Back Reserve is slightly north and the Military Reserve Park/Fort Boise Park is to the south. Within two miles west of the Harrison Boulevard neighborhood is the heart of the downtown area. Among the many attractions here are the Boise State University campus, capitol building, Boise Centre, and Egyptian Theatre. There are also several medical facilities in the downtown area, as well as a handful of city parks. The more prominent city parks in this area include Ann Morrison Park and Julia Davis Park.
