Known as “The City of Gold,” Villa Rica, Georgia is the site of the first gold strike in Georgia, several years before the Georgia Gold Rush began in 1829. Today, visitors can pan for gold at the Pine Mountain Gold Museum, located in Villa Rica.
Situated 35 miles west of downtown Atlanta in Carroll County, Villa Rica is convenient to I-20 and other major highways. Its central location makes it a popular community for those renting apartments.
There are several historic sites in Villa Rica, including the North Villa Rica Commercial Historic District, a collection of buildings dating from 1875.
