With an area of 1.74 square miles, it has a population of almost 3,000 residents. Most of the housing in the neighborhood is apartments or condos, while 20 percent are single-family detached houses of varying styles.

Cultural attractions abound in and near the Downtown neighborhood. The Columbus Black History Museum is only steps to its south, while the Bradley Company Museum is just blocks to its west. The Coca-Cola Space Science Center is a half-mile to the southwest. The Columbus Museum is a mile to its east. The National Civil War Naval Museum, the Greene Museum, the National Infantry Foundation, and Carson McCuller’s Center are within a two-mile radius.

Burger King, Subway, Coffee Beanery, and Top Hat are also within a half-mile radius.
