The community of Ridgecrest Forest is located in Southwest Atlanta near Interstates 285 and 20, near Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, and Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. John A. White Golf Course is open most days, except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day, and is the site for corporate outings, family golfing, and men’s day out. Located on the site of this golf course is The First Tee of Atlanta. This is a non-profit organization that offers golf and life skills to the youth of Atlanta. First Tee of Atlanta helps over 600 young people per year using a 9-hole golf course and 40+ tee range.

Several parks can be found near and around Ridgecrest Forest including Anderson, Mozley and Shirley Parks. These parks provide green space, grills for barbecuing, walking/riding trails, outdoor entertainment and picnic areas. Another popular environmental gem near Ivan Hill is Herbert Greene Nature Preserve.

Yet another noted park near Ridgecrest Forest is Isabel Gates Webster Park. At this park, noted sculptor Robert D. Clements designed the “Yes, We Can” sculpture. This monument is a kinetic 18’ tall structure adorned with twenty leaping ‘running’ figures, and serves as a gateway element to Isabel Gates-Webster Park. Covered in 250 ceramic tiles designed by students from Atlanta’s Peyton Forest Elementary School, the artwork chronicles the life of former Civil Rights attorney Isabel Gates Webster.
