Northwest Atlanta Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Northwest Atlanta is a booming location that offers quick and easy access to shopping options in the downtown area, and dining and entertainment opportunities in Buckhead. Most of the area is residential, and housing options in the area range from modest apartments and condos to opulent mansions. Architectural styles can vary from thoroughly modern to an area renowned for its Roaring 20s appearance and atmosphere.
Almost in the center of the area is Atlanta Memorial Park. The site was part of the Battle of Peachtree Creek during the Civil War in 1864, and offers residents the opportunity to stroll within a part of Georgia history as they walk along the creek. The park is home to the 18-hole Bobby Jones Golf Course built in 1930, and features two club houses, a golf green, and numerous sand traps. The park is also the site of what many residents feel are some of the best tennis courts in the city, found at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, named after the 5’4″ world tennis champion and Atlanta native.
Just off West Paces Ferry, the northern boundary of the area is defined by the Atlanta History Center, one of the largest history museums in the Southeast. The 33-acre site includes a pair of historic houses, a research center, a museum dedicated to the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, and a garden. Lectures, tours, and festivals are held throughout the year on a variety of topics.
Slightly to the West of the Atlanta History Center is the Northside Farmer’s Market, a magnet and mecca for organic food lovers and growers. The market is open from March through December, and offers a variety of foods as well as holiday crafts and gift ideas. The main street in the area, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, offers easy access to the restaurants and nightlife of Buckhead, as well as the sporting venues and family-friendly activities in Downtown Atlanta.
