Located in the center of Vinings, right next door to the Old Vinings Inn, you’ll find the community of Carter’s Grove. The community was built between 1996 to 2000. Vinings, technically, is an unincorporated area, half of which is run by Cobb County, and the other half managed by the area’s homeowner’s association. The area running along and just south of Stillhouse and Ranch Roads, west over to Cobb Parkway and to the east of the railroad tracks, is considered the Vinings community, of which Carter’s Grove is a part.

If you enjoy getting outdoors, this area is the place for you. The community has more than 20 parks, which offer activities ranging from sports to swimming to leisurely walking trails. There is also an adult recreation center and a sports complex. Residents here also love their pets, and provide them with recreation in the form of a large dog park, which has off-leash areas for both small and large dogs.

Along with the local community parks, the community also partners with the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. The area is run by the National Park Service, and provides 16 different park units to the public, offering fishing, hiking, rafting, and picnic areas. Six of the areas are offered by the Vinings community. The area is also home to the Northwest Metro Atlanta chapter of Habitat for Humanity, the Chattahoochee Nature Center, and the Silver Comet walking and biking trail.

For the more indoor types, Carter’s Grove is within easy walking distance to the Vinings Village and Jubilee, and is also roughly an hour’s drive to the North Georgia Premium Outlets, Gwinnett Place, Cumberland Mall, and Wolf Creek Trap and Skeet Shooting Range.
