Historic Ybor is a neighborhood in Tampa, Florida. The neighborhood is framed by Interstate 4 to the north, Nebraska Avenue to the west, Adama Drive to the south, and 22nd Street to the east.
Historic Ybor is located in the heart of the action of Tampa. To the south of the neighborhood, numerous major venues provide excellent entertainment for area residents. One of the most popular venues in the area is St. Pete Times Forum. This major venue is the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning professional hockey team. While Florida isn’t exactly known for their ice sports, the Lightning have an incredible following and it is common to find support for the team throughout the area. The venue is also commonly used for major concerts, shows, and events throughout the year. The Forum is located off of Channelside Drive.
Also off of Channelside Drive is the Florida Aquarium. This area attraction is hugely popular with Historic Ybor residents and provides a wide variety of exhibits that are exciting for visitors of all ages. The Aquarium is not only fun, but educational as well. It is also a popular field trip destination for area schools throughout the year.
If you’re looking for something a little different, off of Platt Street to the west is Four Green Fields. This English-themed pub is not only popular for their food, but for their weekly running events as well. Once a week, Four Green Fields holds a multiple-mile run that brings in over 100 runners who take advantage of the free run, followed by free food. The bar holds the run in hopes that those who stay to eat will come back in the future or stay for a few beers while they are there.
