Cedarwood Village is located in the 33624 zip code within the Tampa suburb of Carrollwood. This community is centered in a U shape around a lake. It is situated on Linebaugh Avenue just west of Dale Mabry Highway. Cedarwood Village consists of attached one- and two-bedroom homes of modest size.

Cedarwood Village is not a gated community; however, the traffic in the neighborhood is usually local since there is no outlet. Residents can walk unimpeded by traffic. Children can be seen riding their bikes or families pushing strollers around the neighborhood.

Residents looking for a longer trail for exercise and to enjoy the Florida sunshine can drive to the Upper Tampa Bay Trail. This trail is located less than fifteen minutes away to the west of the community and is over five and a half miles of paved trail, perfect for biking, walking, skating, or jogging.

The community is made up of single-car garages, but extra parking has been added by way of four- to eight-car parking areas scattered throughout the community. Since the homes are built around a lake, those in the center of the neighborhood are located on the water and can view the wildlife that accompanies water views.

Cedarwood Village is close to the Dale Mabry Highway, which is one of the major north-south roads in Tampa. Residents can be in Downtown Tampa, the Westshore business district, or at the University of South Florida within thirty minutes. Raymond James Stadium and Legends Field are a short twenty-minute drive from the neighborhood.

It is also located fifteen minutes from the Shoppes of Citrus Park, an outdoor mall with restaurants and specialty stores, or the indoor Citrus Park Mall. Dale Mabry Highway offers residents of Cedarwood Village additional retail shopping, including grocery stores, banks, and other businesses. The Tampa Bay area offers residents two trendy and exclusive indoor malls — West Shore Plaza and International Plaza, which are twenty minutes from the community.
