Bay Port Colony is one of the most scenic neighborhoods in the Tampa Bay region. The neighborhood which is actually in Town ‘N Country Florida, is located to the west of Sheldon Road, south of Memorial Highway along Hillsborough Avenue. Homes in the area were built between 1980-1990.
Residents of Bay Port Colony are highly educated with the majority having some form of a college degree. The community is mostly made up of middle income residents with the average resident in their mid thirties.
Incredible neighborhood scenery provided by the canals, bayou, and harbor make it a great place to get outdoors for a walk, run, or bike ride.
Bay Port Colony is situated just off of Cabagehead Bayou to the south. Close proximity to the water provides incredible views of the Bay, excellent sunsets, and some of the best recreational boating and fishing in the Tampa Bay area. Most every home in the neighborhood is built along a canal with a private boat dock for access to the bay by traveling through the winding series of canals.
Most of the destinations in the immediate area can be found by traveling along Hillsborough Avenue. This major roadway is loaded with different stores and restaurants and provides quick access to some of the biggest venues in Tampa. By simply traveling along the road near the neighborhood there is a considerable amount of dining featuring a variety of different styles of cuisine. Some of the restaurants include Cody’s Original Roadhouse, Beef O’Brady’s, Philly Phlava, Chili’s Grill and Bar, and several other smaller establishments.
There are also some shopping destinations located along Hillsborough Avenue including Wal-Mart neighborhood market, Best Buy, Petsmart, Target, Advance Auto Parts, Walgreens Pharmacy, and CVS Pharmacy. Most major shopping requires driving a few miles outside of the area to one of the many shopping centers and malls.
