Spring Lake South is a neighborhood located about 15 minutes northeast of Clearwater. This is predominately a residential community consisting of single-family homes. This area is abundant with palm trees and tropical vegetation. Although Spring Lake South isn’t a gated community, you can still feel quite secure among this tight-knit group of residents.
Tucked between the Old Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, Spring Lake South isn’t short on places to cool off in the summer. Clearwater Beach isn’t far from this neighborhood, on the Gulf of Mexico. Clearwater Beach is best known for its white sand beaches and shopping. Another popular stop for residents around the Clearwater area is Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island State Parks. Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands are only accessible by ferry four times a day and provide guests with a full day of options. While on Honeymoon Island, you can enjoy the soft, white sand beaches and the nature trails throughout the island. If you’re not sunbathing, then you will most likely be combing the beaches for large seashells. Seashell collecting is an extremely popular activity on both Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands. Honeymoon Island is also a trendy spot to have a wedding. A sunset wedding on Honeymoon Island is said to bring lifelong fortune.
Spring Lake South is near ample amounts of golf courses, both public and private. Two of the larger country clubs in the area are Countryside Country Club and Dunedin Country Club. Both of these golf clubs offer full service caddies, banquet halls, and fine dining. Locally, there are several public golf courses to keep you entertained throughout the peak and off-peak seasons.
Spring Lake South is not far from downtown Tampa. If you’re looking for a weekend activity, heading into Tampa to catch a NFL Buccaneers game is a good choice for sports fans. Tampa is a popular destination for shopping and fine dining as well.
